You Go Girl!

First Lady Michelle Obama shrugged off the Oscar De la Renta fiasco with poise and grace this past Friday. During an interview for ABC’s Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts asked FLOTUS about De la Renta’s remarks. She calmly responded with:

“Women, wear what you love. That’s all I can say. That’s my motto.”

My first reaction was, “…you go girl!” I just could not hold it in, I was in awe at how simply perfect that response was. Once again the elegant and diplomatic First Lady beautifully communicates what  A Lacey Perspective has been trying to convey all along — every female in this crazy world we call politics deserves to look and feel like a woman without hesitation.

So… “Woman, wear what you love.” Thank you, Mrs. Obama, I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Ok, Lacey, I know that you usually blog about what current trends are and how to incorporate them on Capital Hill, but what about former trends? I have a huge love for Jackie Kennedy’s fashion…maybe a piece on what we can learn from her and how to incorporate it into the new and now (on capital hill of course). Alot of what you say is actually applicable to teachers too (although I always have to wear flats!) Have a great one! Tab
