Lacey’s Wearing: Lady in Red

Dress + Belt {Meeps Vintage} | Bag {vintage Dooney & Burke} | Nude Wedges {Steve Madden} | Necklace {LouLou Boutique} | Gold Watch {Michael Kors} | Bracelet {Yurman} | Rings {LouLou Boutique} | Hot Pink Lipstick {NARS – Carthage} | Nail polish {OPI – Hey! Get In Lime}

As I said yesterday, here is the beginning of my promise to you, my lovely readers, of two outfit posts (at least) a week. This dress was one of my absolute favorite vintage finds. A light, airy, perfectly detailed red dress. Pockets are always what sell me on a vintage dress, but honestly the buttons along only one side of the dress just added a little something. I stuck with simple neutral pieces for this dress and then added the pop of pink-ish purple with this fun rope belt I also nabbed (for under $20) at Meeps. If you haven’t been following my blog for long, you will notice that I have an unhealthy obsession with Meeps, not only is it less then a block from my apartment, but its pricing and selections are just fabulous!

This post is my way of showing you that you too can color block (in vintage) without it being too loud and also be able to be work appropriate. Try simply adding a belt with a color contrasting the rest of your outfit and maybe make your nails a fun color as well (love my light green nails right now). Also, never forget your trusty top knot, my goto hair style almost every day why my hair grows out of its awkward-length-stage.

The first person who saw me in this today said to me, “…you’re always so colorful!” See DC? You can wear color and people will like it.

So… what’d you think? You like the outfit posts? Should I keep them comin’?
