Pink Rocks the Runway 2011

Pink Rocks the Runway was one of the better DC fashion events I have been to in my 3+ years here in our Nation’s Capital. Held at the gorgeous International Trade Center, this event was not only fabulous but educational as well –  I learned that night that the Washington, DC area has the highest mortality rate among breast cancer patients.

While 14 stunning breast cancer survivors strut down the runway donning local designer duds – a relatively impressive cover band, Charm City Devils, cranked out some great tunes. Then of course, the moment we all were waiting not so patiently for, Christian Siriano’s Spring 2012 came down the runway. The models were clearly not the models the pieces were made for (all models were local models) but that still didn’t take away from the beauty that is Siriano’s “sea creature” inspired looks. If this is what spring will look like next year – I cannot wait.

What is better than going to a fabulous DC fashion event? Going to a fabulous DC fashion event AND running into the stunning Katie of Go Kate Shoot who said she will take your DSLR (which you still have not completely figured out yet) and take the pictures for you in all her photography expertise glory. Wow. Can a girl get any more lucky?

Below are pictures taken by the talented Katie. I got to just sit back and soak it all in. Now you can do the same…
