Life of the (Arm) Party

I have been wearing arm parties since I was little. There was never a day I didn’t have a watch on, some sort of new bangle I found at Claires (yeah I said it… Claires) and some friendship bracelet I made on the bus ride to dance competitions.

Lately, I have been wearing the same ‘ole arm party. The pictures above are plenty of evidence that I wear the same arm candy almost every single day and typically in the exact same places! You won’t catch me a day without my Michael Kors gold watch, David Yurman bracelet and Forever21 spiked cuff (similar).

Perhaps it is time to add to this arm party… I have been eyeing this, this and this lately.

What do you wear to your arm party and what do you think my arm party is missing?

Get Your Om On

Instead of my regularly scheduled Wednesday Wish List, I wanted to share with you my favorite items to get my om on. Like I said yesterday, one of my new year’s resolutions is to stay consistant with going to my yoga classes 3 days a week (if you are in DC I attend this studio). I was sort of consistant with this in 2011, but in 2012 this will be my sacred me time.

Now that it is getting chillier out there, looking cute while walking over to my class has been tough but I refuse to let excuses get in the way.

Below are some of my must haves to get my om on…

PROLite Yoga Mat {Manduka}

Anything Manduka makes, I will own. I highly recommend their PROLite mats if you live in a city and walk to your classes. These babies are light but still have enough cushion and traction to help you practice at your best. I personally got their Lighten Up Package (It was created for the city yogi in mind and buying their items in bulk saves you lots of moola!), but if you are just looking for a new mat – this beauty is it.

Canvas Classic {TOMS}

To keep your toes warm on the walk, and a great way to keep your inner yogi and philanthropist alive, TOMS are the best shoe. Trust me, you will walk into your studio and see every yogi in them. Perhaps buy blank ones (like above) and DIY them a bit to a add a personal touch.

Groove Pant {Lululemon}

Like every yogi, I have an unhealthy love for Lululemon. Now that the days of wearing shorts to class are far far away, I have been eyeing the ever-popular Groove Pant with a bold pink band.

Pink Lux Earbuds {iFrogz c/o AT&T}

To get me into the yogi zone on my walk to class – these extremely light weight and, dare I say, fashionable earbuds keep me going. You know I had to get them in pink and they match all of my pink yoga gear perfectly. Yes. I care if my earbuds match. Don’t judge.

Anorak w Faux Fur Trim {DKNY}

…and for the really cold DC nights, I use a heavier anorak to keep me warm since my yoga gear is very thin. This furry DKNY piece is one of my favs. Toasty.

What are your favorite yoga/workout must haves for the winter? I would love any suggestions!

Namaste,
Lacey

Purple Sequins

Dress & Bag {Meeps Vintage} | Faux Fur Jacket {old – unknown} very similar | Belt {F21} | Pumps {Zara} similar | Sunnies {Karen Walker} | Monogram Necklace {Max & Chloe} | Watch {Michael Kors} | Bracelet {Yurman} | Cuff {F21} similar | Ring {H&M} similar |Lipstick {L’Oreal – British Red} | Manicure {OPI – Lincoln Park After Dark}

For all those ladies who have a holiday party coming up but don’t want to wear the traditional red or gold (like I wore here and here) – I suggest tossing on a comfy sweater dress with a bit of sparkle. You will stand out in the sea of red but still nod towards the festive time of year with a bit of sparkle and fur.

For all of those who are wondering… yes this dress is another find from my amazing Meeps bag for $20 I told you about. ;)

Lacy Lady

You all know I love to support local, and when Uplifting Nighties (recently featured on The Today Show) asked me if I would like to try their supportive nightie I was absolutely thrilled! Each nightie has an internal, fully lined shelf bra made from the same material as the nightie and the straps are fully adjustable so that you can adjust to your body.

When this buttery soft, pink Lacy Lady came in I was so excited to try it on. It is everything I expected and more! So comfortable and very supportive. Def two thumbs way up!

You can get your own Uplifting Nightie here!

LPM Lookbook

I had the honor of being one of four fabulous stylists (see credits below for the others) on the just released La Petite Marmoset Holiday Lookbook 2011. As a vintage lover I can’t get enough of LPM’s amazing selection (I am pretty sure I need to own every one of the sequin pieces you are about to see).

We started with four beautiful models and told them, “…girls night out on H Street. Go…” and boy did they absolutely kill it. While Katya of Spicy Candy DC and I watched the shoot after a long day of styling she said “I wanna be in there going out with them!” and I responded, “…don’t worry hunny we will.” Hehe. We seriously wanted to jump right in, and you will to… but restrain your self… at least until the launch party on Thursday.

Luckily LPM’s Founder, Katherine, is letting me show you the Lookbook RIGHT HERE! Enjoy, party on and Happy Holidays!

Hang with me and the other contributors at the launch party at Violet Boutique this Thursday at 7pm (I’ll be the one in a sequin LPM pencil skirt)!! Continue reading
