Friday Fun: Behind the Scenes

Remember that time I posted an outfit post… haha… no really stick with me here. Remember that time I posted about my new fav 7FAM jeans c/o InvistaLycra and at the end of the post I said they survived a 22 hour day full of work, play and a lookbook shoot while keeping their shape the whole time? Thennnnnnnn remember when I unveiled said lookbook? Well now on to my fav part (other then all the sequins and fur involved I got to play with)… the behind the scenes shots and a pic that didn’t make the cut but I am madly in love with (shhhh… don’t tell Katherine I am showing it to you).

…and my fav pic that didn’t make it into the lookbook is…drum roll please…

Glitter. Duh. I could not get enough of it… on the vintage or being tossed around H Street by the models. So festive and so fabulous!

A big, glitter covered THANK YOU to all those who participated and contributed to this fabulous La Petite Marmoset Lookbook! Also, of course, I cannot forget a very big thank you to Katherine for allowing me to take part in such a killer project! I look forward to more!

Friday Fun: The Glossarie Overhauls My MakeUp Bag

I am never one to claim myself as a beauty expert. Heck, I can barely get eyeliner on one eyelid successfully without looking like I got punched in the eye. But I do know that it is time for a little makeup bag update for this fall/winter season. So who better to help me with this overhaul, while I am away on a short vacay, then the one the only – Lucky FABB Best Beauty Voice Nominee – Lara of The Glossarie! If this blog is not on your must-read list, go ahead and add it to your Google Reader now…

Hey there, Lacey lovers! I’m Lara from The Glossarie and I am honored to be taking over ALP’s super stylish digs for the day. The purpose of this pretty post? I got my manicured mitts on the co-queen of CapFABB‘s makeup bag and gave it an awesome overhaul for fall.

1. Essie Size Matters and School of Hard Rocks, $8 each: I’m smitten with Essie’s Cocktail Bling collection for holiday. My two favorite shades for Lacey are this smoking hot ruby red and edgy gray-teal. They’re both office appropriate for day but bold enough for nights out with her manfriend or the CapFABB girls.

2. NARS Cream Blush in Penny Lane, $27: I happen to know that Miss Lacey is a faithful fan of cult fave Orgasm by NARS. Their cream blush in Penny Lane is a great alternative for cooler months – just tap it on the apples it dries to a glowy powder finish.

3. Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel, $21: Have you seen our girl’s killer arches?! She has been blessed with basically the best brows ever, so a tinted brow gel is all she needs to condition and control.

4. L’Oreal True Match Makeup, $9: This stuff could sell for so much more at department stores for all the flawlessness that it provides. It goes on like a dream and feels super high end, providing a very natural looking finish that matches skin color exactly.

5. Revlon CustomEyes Eyeshadow, $7: The best thing about these shadows in killer color combos, is the little map on the back that teaches you how to create a professional eye look in a matter of minutes. It makes defining those baby browns a total breeze!

6. Benefit Rush Hour, $22: This pretty purple berry is perfect for lovely Lacey’s lips this season. It is simple to use and flatters in an instant, plus it’s great for tossing in your bag for the day or evening. In a pinch, it even doubles as blush to wake up the face after a long day in the office.

I can’t wait to see Lacey rockin’ some of these pretty products in her style shots this season.

Friday Fun: Fall Uniform

I am 100% positive that the above will become my fall uniform. My trusty J Crew wool cape, Zara’s Cap Toe Pumps (shipping across the country as we speak), pleather leggings and an oversized sweater. I am starting to notice that I am gravitating towards black and tan for the chilly seasons. It all just looks so chic but in no way compromises comfort. That is my kind of uniform!

Friday Fun: Black & Tan

Can I be in this exact ensemble right now? Pretty please? Seriously though people… I want all of this. I already own the top (as seen here) and a leopard scarf (as seen here). Clearly I can’t seem to get enough of print mixing (hope you aren’t sick of seeing it yet). Although it seems like a very daring trend, I promise you when you try it once you will fall in love. All you need is one common color throughout your pieces. I won’t stop showing you all print mixing until you try it. So go on… give it a shot. :)

I have been craving leather. Jackets, skirts, shorts… I want it all. It is such a great way to transition your look to fall without it being too warm. This skirt above from H&M, which I now own, is going to get a lot of use durring these next couple months. Also, hold the presses… helloooo perfect cape I must own. Wow. Romwe really nailed it, and its only $58.99?! Yes please.

When the weather is starting to creep towards fall I always dive head first into the fall trends. The best way to keep from looking like you are ready for the arctic tundra is to add layers that can be removed as the day warms up. A short sleeved sweater dress is the prefect addition to your fall transition wardrobe. This weekend here in DC will be starting to feel fall-ish. So let the amazing layering begin!

Friday Fun: Go Noles

College and pro football is here! Yay! As a lover of all things football and especially a lover of all things Florida State Seminoles, I am so pumped! Once you graduate college your football day gear changes. You no longer can toss on tiny cut-off denim shorts and a tight fitting tee. On the other hand, you don’t want to look like an old lady, so the above is my perfect in between. You still get jeans, but you clean it up and give it a fall look with the causal boyfriend blazer and booties.
